About KuShed
Ku-ring-gai Community Workshop ‘The Shed’ Inc β St Ives Showground
Men’s sheds have become an important part of Australian community life. Born from a simple idea β that blokes need a place to be useful, connected, and active β they’ve grown into a national movement. KuShed has been part of that story for over two decades.

Our Story
When men retire, they often lose more than a job β they lose their workshop, their routine, and their daily connection with others. KuShed was set up to fill that gap. Members share a fully equipped workshop, pursue personal projects, learn new skills, and work together on community builds. It’s a place where experience is valued, newcomers are welcomed, and good company is guaranteed.
Workshop & Tools
Woodwork, metal and wood turning, light engineering, welding, picture framing and more. Well-equipped and well-maintained.
Open Days
Tuesday and Saturday mornings, 8amβ12pm. Drop in, have a look around, and see if the Shed is for you.
Community Projects
Members regularly donate skills and time to local organisations β from the RFS to bowling clubs to children’s charities.
Everyone’s Welcome
Whether you’re a retired tradesman with decades of experience, someone who’s always wanted to learn woodwork, or just looking for a reason to get out of the house β you’re welcome at KuShed. There’s no pressure, no minimum skill level, and no shortage of people happy to show you the ropes. Come and have a look on any open day.
